Caribbean Beach Wedding
By Anna Lynn Sibal
As far as destination weddings go, the beaches of the Caribbean islands are among the most favored venues of couples who are looking to tie the not. It is not surprising, really. The beaches of the Caribbean are natural wonders by themselves; they make a lovely backdrop to the promised start of a wonderful life together. More than that, there are many things that couples can do on the beaches of the Caribbean that will ensure bonding, not just a fun and memorable time together.
What do brides and grooms need to know if they want a destination beach wedding at the Caribbean islands?
First of all, they need to know what documents and requirements must be submitted and satisfied for getting a marriage license in the Caribbean. The requirements vary from country to country, and there are some countries in the Caribbean where a residency of at least six months is a must. So, it will be helpful to do some research beforehand.
A little bit of research will also help couples in planning their beach wedding at the Caribbean. Thankfully, there are plenty of wedding coordinators who do business with foreign couples holding destination beach weddings on the islands, and most resorts offer reasonably priced wedding packages that cover nearly everything that couples need for their wedding: food and accommodation for guests and relatives, decorations for the ceremony, photography and video coverage and such.
But you know, it is not just the romantic wedding that couples look forward to when they decide to have a destination wedding on the beaches of the Caribbean. It is the honeymoon. The wedding packages offered by beach resorts almost always include the honeymoon. The most basic amenities that beach hotels and resorts offer their honeymooning guests include a gift basket with chocolates, breakfast in bed for two, a bottle of champagne and a bouquet of roses.
But many Caribbean beach resorts try to go beyond the basics to make sure that their newlywed guests have a honeymoon they will certainly remember. There are many such Caribbean beach resorts where there are cottages or villa-like suites available for the use of their honeymooners. These cottages or villas are furnished luxuriously and are built with a verandah that overlooks the ocean. Amenities such as a fully equipped kitchen and private wait staff are also there at the honeymooners’ convenience.
For honeymooners who really want privacy and prefer to make it on their own, there are plenty of villas, cottages and homes near the beach that are available for self-catering holiday goers. Self-catering works like having a house of your own away from home. The amenities such as kitchen and comfortable furnishings are there, but you get to wait on yourself and do your own chores. Some newlyweds may find spending their honeymoon playing house that way enjoyable.
The sun-blessed islands and beaches of the Caribbean have nearly everything to offer couples who are looking to get married and spend their honeymoon there. They just have to find what will work for them.
